Nov 3: The Tory vision for the future of energy

Greg Clarke, shadow energy secretary, outlines what the future of energy in Britain might look like under a Tory government. Mr Clarke suggests that the Conservatives would be more enthusiastic compared to the Labour party about small-scale local generation and more cautious about nuclear power and on-shore wind. But, argues the FT's energy edtor Ed Crooks, the pressures on any government are almost the same and all forms of energy will be needed, whichever government is in power.
