Foxes: Glorious – review

Southampton singer Louisa Rose Allen was discovered over the internet by dance music producer Zedd, who invited her to sing on his US hit single “Clarity”.

Allen’s debut album turns out to be a Zedd-less zone, however, swapping EDM for Florence and the Machine-style drama – hammering tribal drums, dramatic orchestrations, powerful singing in which doing “the walk of shame in your best dress” sounds like an epic ritual from some vaguely intimated Celtic past.

Designed for maximum exposure, it’s a big-screen production; but the drama isn’t overcooked like Florence and the Machine.
