When this extraordinary final instalment of AMC’s Breaking Bad was aired this summer, it was the number one water-cooler topic for weeks. The question of how it would all end for meth-king Walt, his soulful sidekick Jesse, his ultimately complicit wife Skyler and his DEA-agent brother-in-law Hank, has been on our minds since episode one of series one.
But the denouement, eked out over eight nail-biting episodes, is more thrilling, brilliantly scripted and acted than in even your wildest (meth-addled) dreams. Take deep breaths, and enjoy the ride.
