Webster University is to launch a global MBA programme in 2008 which will be taught on five different campuses, in Vienna, Leiden (Netherlands), London, Geneva and Shanghai.

The 11-month programme will be aimed at US students and for those at the younger end of the MBA spectrum, with little work experience. The school is hoping for 25 students in the initial cohort.

Webster, which is headquartered in St Louis, has a network of international campuses run by other institutions. As well as the five that will participate in the Global MBA, there is a sixth campus in Thailand. Webster, including the six international campuses, has access to 1,500 faculty worldwide and at present there are 13,000 business students enrolled on its programmes, including 5,500 on its existing MBA programmes.
