John Elliott is to step down as dean of the Zicklin school of business at Baruch College in New York to take a similar job at the business school at the University of Connecticut.
Prof Elliot will take over from interim dean Karla Fox, who stepped up to the job when former dean Christopher Earley moved to the Krannert school at Purdue University in 2011.
Prof Elliott, an accountancy specialist, will officially take up his new role in August, although he has already begun working with the faculty at his new school on strategic issues. Prof Elliott earned his undergraduate and MBA degrees from the University of Maryland and his PhD from Cornell.
