Belgium finally gets new government

Belgium’s new government finally took office on Thursday, ending an embarrassing nine-month political impasse that had threatened the country’s unity.

King Albert II appointed Yves Leterme, the Flemish Christian Democrat who won June’s general election, as prime minister.
