A very important consideration when buying a company’s shares is the quality of the management.

As an outsider, this is often difficult to assess. Even though I’ve been very fortunate to meet regularly with the management of many companies over the past 25 years or so, I still find it difficult to reach an assessment after just one meeting. Rarely do I have a strong view after a single meeting.
