The first hurricane to make landfall in the US this year has hit New Orleans on the anniversary of hurricane Katrina, which devastated the city seven years ago. Hurricane Isaac tore down trees and power lines, toppled fences and levelled street signs around New Orleans after arriving early Wednesday morning.
