Christians in Egypt demand end to violence

An escalation of violence against Coptic Christians in Egypt has triggered over a week of protests in Cairo. Copts make up about a tenth of the Egyptian population but have often been targeted by others, especially since the revolution earlier this year. As Egypt prepares for the first democratic election in decades Heba Saleh, the FT's Cairo correspondent, tells Richard Edgar that some Copts are accusing the authorities of turning a blind eye.
