Part 1, March 26 2009: Roger Altman, chairman and chief executive of Evercore Partners, talks to Chrystia Freeland, US managing editor, about the status of the US dollar as the world's reserve currency, his opinion of Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and Geithner's plan for the public-private investment programme (PPIP). Mr Altman also discusses the lessons of the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC) in the late 1980s as well as the challenges the PPIP may pose for both the investors and the US government.
