Paris Fashion Week provided the final stop on the Spring Summer 2018 fashion circuit, and the last word on next season's key trends.

Big brands now consider luxe sneakers a revenue-driving it accessory, alongside bags or heels. And their popularity looks set to increase next season.
Designer Maria Grazia Chiuri offered a checkable plimsoll at Dior. At Celine, chic trenchcoats were paired with functional white trainers. And at Louis Vuitton, they were gym-ready with a futuristic zigzag sole.
Comme des Garcons collaborated with Nike to create a heeled resting boot. But perhaps the most unusual version, and the most unsuitable for any sort of actual sport, were [INAUDIBLE] suede running-style trainers. With an exaggerated curved toe, they were perfect perhaps for one of Santa's elves. Toe-curlingly quirky.
Forget toning down a loud print or bright shade by pairing it with something neutral. Designers encouraging us to go all-out bold. [INAUDIBLE] chic was all the rage at Dior, where a Pillar Box-red patent coat was worn over a dress in the same colour. At Stella McCartney, the designer made a case for the scarlet woman, by teaming a puff sleeve top with matchy-matchy trousers.
If you can't get enough of Hermes silk twill scarves, then the French label's shirt and trousers with an added apron delivers a lot of bold print for your buck. The same goes for Sacai's tartan top and trousers.

It wouldn't be Paris in the spring without an array of trenchcoats. At Maison Margiela, John Galliano based his collection around the classic, deconstructing it, turning into a mini dress, and offering it in gold brocade topped off with feathery strips. At Alexander McQueen, designer Sarah Burton was also [INAUDIBLE] and changing its essential elements, as well as offering it in quilted floral silk. At Balenciaga, a flat trench was superimposed on top of a denim jacket.
Leather versions also abounded. In a minimal 70s tan at Chloe, and voluminous black leather at Celine, with a Western-style trim. Buckle up.
