Commodity ETPs emerge as winners

Nicholas Brooks, head of research and investment strategy at ETF Securities, explains why the exchange traded product provider's broad diversified commodity ETPs saw the strongest inflows in the first quarter of this year. He said inflows were boosted by investors looking to hedge against inflation risk and to play global growth and the rise in emerging market demand. Sovereign risk fears boosted gold ETPs in March, while oil ETPs saw some profit-taking, he said.
