Jun 21: Second round of Polish elections to be a ‘tight race’
The gap between the two leading candidates in Poland’s presidential election this weekend was narrower than opinion polls had expected, according to the FT’s Eastern Europe editor Neil Buckley. That sets Poland up for a much tighter race in the second round of elections on July 4th. The markets would prefer to see Mr Komorowski as president, to avoid a gridlock situation that is possible under a Kaczynski presidency.
