As more top-end hotels open around the world, pressure grows on London to assert its reputation as a centre of excellence for hospitality. To keep up to date, all of the capital's big five-star hotels are rebuilding. Roger Blitz, leisure industries correspondent, looks inside some of the refurbished hotels and asks whether, as the financial crisis deepens, can these landmark residences charge the high prices that they hoped their renovations might afford them?
