Nov 26: Thai Finance Minister urges "trust the system"

Nov 26: Thailand's finance minister Korn Chatikavanij has urged investors spooked by political risks in the country to trust the stability of institutions. The government is trying to turn around a weakened economy against a backdrop of disturbances. This week it has triggered a civil order act in anticipation of opposition protests. Last month the stock market dropped seven percent, when a false rumour spread that the king had died. Mr Korn says it would be "silly to ignore" these issues but says that the country's institutions are strong and will ensure continuity.
