Jun 8: China unrest pushes up pay

The outbreak of labour unrest at foreign-owned factories in southern China threatens to spread to the rest of the country. Richard McGregor, former Beijing bureau chief, says the ruling Communist party is allowing pay increases in the factories, but would crack down on any political protest or coordinated strike action.
