Jan 31: Opec leans towards unchanged output

In a rebuff to consumer countries' calls for more oil production and in spite of near-record oil prices, Chakib Khelil, head of Opec (the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries), tells Javier Blas, FT commodities correspondent, that there is not enough demand for oil to justify raising official production levels. He says Opec will review that decision at the next meeting in Vienna on March 5.
