Mar 22: Rio Tinto 'quarantines' China case

Rio Tinto's lead iron salesman in China, Stern Hu, has admitted taking bribes, to a closed court in Shanghai today. But Richard McGregor, former FT China bureau chief, thinks that the Anglo-Australian miner and China have "quarantined" the fallout from the case, so as not to upset both business with this key mineral supplier and also bilatreal ties with Australia, the source of iron ore.
