Lex: Barclays Capital

The days of true investment banking partnerships are dead, at least for the big banks. But that has not stopped Barclays Capital from seeking to recreate a partnership-style ideology among its top deal makers. Although part of a listed UK bank, Barcap has a so-called "partnership committee" that promotes managing directors as part of a "partnership promotion" process. Interest in the idea comes in the wake of the financial crisis, which has reinvigorated talk of a return to the partnerships of yore.
