PETER SUTHERLAND on market turmoil and world trade

Part 1, Dec 12: Peter Sutherland is described by some as the "father of globalisation" - he ran GATT and then became the head of its successor body, the World Trade Organisation. Now the chairman of BP and Goldman Sachs International, he has a remarkable vantage point from which to survey world affairs. In the first part of this interview with Charlie Pretzlik, Mr Sutherland describes how he sees the current market turmoil developing and his fears should the Doha round of trade talks fail.
