Mr Trump is an enigma. He is complicated, as am I. He is both good and bad, as do we all. But the bad far outweighs the good.
For years, he was President Donald Trump's personal lawyer and fixer. This week, Michael Cohen became something else - star witness. Over three days of hearings on Capitol Hill, Mr Cohen testified in two closed door sessions. He also appeared before the House Oversight Committee, where he tore into his former boss.
I am ashamed because I know what Mr Trump is. He is a racist. He is a con man. And he is a cheat.
Republican lawmakers in the White House have attempted to paint Mr Cohen as a liar and unreliable narrator. The former lawyer has been disbarred and is set to begin a three-year prison sentence in May for crimes including perjuring himself to Congress.
We get 30 minutes from a guy who is going to prison, going to prison, in two months for lying to Congress.
Yet Democrats suggested they were able to glean new insights from Mr Cohen's testimony. Among the new allegations shared by the lawyer, that Mr Trump had continued to be involved in plans for a Trump Tower Moscow project during the 2016 campaign. He also produced a signed cheque, evidence, Mr Cohen said, of hush money payments sent by the president to an adult film actress. The testimony is likely to spur more investigations by Democrats.
