    Eric Platt

    Senior Corporate Finance Correspondent

    Eric Platt is a senior corporate finance correspondent for the Financial Times and contributes to Due Diligence, the paper's premium deals briefing. He helps lead the paper's coverage of private credit, including the so-called shadow banking industry, which has grown in size and influence following the 2008 financial crisis.

    He also covers Warren Buffett and Berkshire Hathaway and will expand the FT's coverage into endowments and family offices in the US, including those managing money for Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk. He was previously the FT's US markets editor, mergers and acquisitions correspondent, capital markets correspondent and a founding reporter on fastFT.

    He joined the FT in 2013 from Reuters. He graduated from New York University.
