The former Ukrainian president’s country estate uncovered

Shortly after Viktor Yanukovich fled Ukraine in February, activists occupied the former president’s 137-hectare estate north of Kiev. They discovered a plush mansion with its own heliport, zoo, private car collection, golf course, dairy and restaurant. In an echo of many other plutocrats’ palaces from Nicolae Ceausescu’s in Romania to Saddam Hussein’s in Iraq, much of the spending was wildly extravagant but tasteless, as these images reveal.
