Occitan nationalists and music magpies, Moussu T E Lei Jovents have always thrown everything they can – Bal Musette, reggae, North African sounds – into their bouillabaisse-thick albums.

Operette isolates and highlights one particular strain: the cheeky, breezy popular songs of 1930s Marseilles, performed in intimate and confidential style. A bonus disc contains the light orchestral originals of the songs.
