Sir, Giles Wilkes (“Squawking heads”, Life & Arts, July 30) says “nothing [is] as reliably good as the blogosphere” at delivering insights. Maybe its gift will, indeed, be “ungated” access to the best of thought for everyone, but first we have to know where the good is hidden in the piles of garbage (or worse) — and then make sense of it. Perhaps better gates and gatekeepers could help us. Have to ask the blogosphere how to
do that.
