The title refers to Bangalore’s modern image as a city of call centres and high-tech, but Jyotsna Srikanth’s album consists of classical Carnatic violin music, adapting and updating a repertoire in cases centuries old.
She is accompanied only by drum and clay pot, and the keys remain constant, so the interest lies in the constantly shifting speeds and rhythms, never more than in the 40-minute “Brovabarama”.
