From Mr Michael Montesano.
Sir, If Tyler Brûlé had more familiarity with the commuting patterns of Bangkok schoolchildren (“Adventures in childhood”, The Fast Lane, July 6) than that afforded by a single four-stop trip on the city’s BTS skytrain, he would perhaps not submit FT readers to such silliness.
Next time he’s in Thailand, perhaps he can observe the cars double-parked in late afternoon along Henri Dunant Road to fetch students from Triam Udom Sueksa and Satit Patumwan schools or lined up along Convent Road to pick up students from St Joseph Convent School. He would then understand that the Thai elite coddles its young no less than do the residents of his “own London neighbourhood” and maybe also write less risibly about Thailand.
