Australian brother-sister duo Angus and Julia Stone split up in 2010 but reunited when super-producer Rick Rubin got in touch saying he wanted to produce them after hearing their music at a party.

Recorded at Rubin’s Malibu studio, the reconciled siblings’ self-titled new album is a relaxed affair that casts them as a mellow West Coast Rock version of the xx, swapping vocals over a restrained groove and tasteful melodies. She’s languid, he’s fey: both are faintly irritating, though not enough to spoil the laidback atmosphere.
