Raise £100m

London Business School is celebrating the launch of its campaign to raise £100m by 2018. The money will be invested in the school’s new campus buildings in Old Marylebone Town Hall, faculty, scholarships, technology and the LBS fund. Sir Andrew Likierman, dean of LBS, will be in Brazil to celebrate the launch with alumni of the school. John Mullins, associate professor of management practice in marketing and entrepreneurship will share insights on ‘Who needs investors?’

Discuss the intersection of business and government

A new season of the Global Insights speaker series at Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth in the US begins. The first speaker is Bernt Killingstad, managing director of AIG Lincoln Europe and sponsor of the series, who will talk about how he built a real estate company in Europe just after the fall of the Berlin Wall. He will also discuss how students today should prepare for a business career that spans national boundaries.

The 2013 EFMD Case Writing Competition is accepting submissions on a wide range of topics, including entrepreneurship, sponsored by EMLyon Business School, African business cases sponsored by Ceibs and inclusive business models sponsored by IMD. The deadline is today.

Increase the number of women at business school

The Forté Foundation is hosting an interactive forum at the London campus of the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Women will be able to learn about the business school applications process and hear advice from MBA women in various industries and career stages about what motivated them to pursue an MBA and the successes and challenges they have faced.

Learn about the largest food company in the world

Deirdre O’Donoghue, head of Nestlé in Ireland will be visiting her old campus at UCD Michael Smurfit School of Business to talk to UCD students. She will discuss her role and the company’s graduate programmes in engineering, finance, HR, manufacturing & focused improvement, marketing, quality assurance, sales, safety health & environment, and supply chain.

Celebrate a 40th anniversary

The University of Western Australia is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its MBA. Alumni are invited to submit a short profile and photos from their MBA days, which will be shared at a reunion dinner.
