Robb Johnson’s suite of songs – originally written for the 1997 Passchendaele commemorations, but now revised and expanded – starts with the experiences of Johnson’s grandfathers in the Great War, in an Edwardian cabaret style.
The second disc takes the story through the following years, with the two men quietly sharing war stories at Johnson’s parents’ wedding, and then through the war’s own reprise in Iraq and Afghanistan.
