A group of schoolgirls poses with the Fearless Girl statue at its unveiling opposite the London Stock Exchange on Tuesday. The City version is an exact replica of the original now standing near the New York Stock Exchange.
The statue is part of a campaign by asset management firm State Street Global Advisors for greater gender diversity on corporate boards.
“I hope that the Fearless Girl will serve as a reminder both of the progress that we have made but of the progress that we need to make,” said Catherine McGuinness, of the City of London Corporation. “I very much hope that she will inspire generations of girls to become fearless leaders.”
