The Open Air Theatre began its summer season with one family drama – Arthur Miller’s All My Sons – and now it moves on to domestic turmoil in Lancashire. Domineering paterfamilias Henry Hobson runs a boot-shop, relying on his unpaid daughters to do all the work while he drinks and throws his weight around.

But when his oldest daughter decides to marry the cobbler’s most talented boot-maker, the tide begins to turn. Mark Benton plays Hobson in Nadia Fall’s production of Harold Brighouse’s gripping microcosm of industrial relations.
