Kim Cameron is the William Russell Kelly professor of management and organisations at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and a professor of higher education in the university’s School of Education.

Prof Cameron’s past research on organisational downsizing, effectiveness, quality culture, virtuousness and the development of management skills has been published in more than 120 articles and 14 books. His current research focuses on the virtuousness of and in organisations and their relationship to organisational success. He is one of the co-founders of the Center for Positive Organizational Scholarship at the University of Michigan.

Prof Cameron has served as dean and Albert Weatherhead professor of management at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, as associate dean and Ford Motor Co./Richard E. Cook professor in the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University and as a department chair and director of several executive education programmes at the University of Michigan. He also served on the faculties of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Ricks College. He organised and directed the organisational studies division of the National Center for Higher Education Management Systems in Boulder, Colorado.

He received BSc and MSc degrees from Brigham Young University and MA and PhD degrees from Yale University. He served on the National Research Council, was president of Bay Asset Funding Corporation, and was a Fulbright distinguished scholar. He is a graduate of Leadership Cleveland Class of 2000 and a recipient of the Organizational Behavior Teaching Society’s outstanding educator award. He currently consults with a variety of business, government and educational organisations in North America, South America, Asia, Africa and Europe.
