Mark Zupan is to step down as dean of the Simon school at the University of Rochester in June 2014 after more than a decade in the job. Before joining the Simon school, Prof Zupan was dean of the University of Arizona’s Eller College of Management for six years.
Prof Zupan has been one of the longest serving deans at a US business school and the Simon school will now join the likes of the Wharton school at the University of Pennsylvania, the Rotman school at the University of Toronto, Insead in France and Singapore and Manchester Business School in the UK in the hunt for its next dean.
Prof Zupan will retain his role as economics professor at Simon, taking a year’s sabbatical and then returning to the school as Director of the Bradley Policy Research Center.
