Suit by Brioni

I like everything I wear to be seasonless and well-engineered. I bought this navy Brioni suit this year from Bergdorf Goodman for just that reason – it has a modern European cut, which is far slimmer than an American suit, yet also feels relaxed and informal thanks to the blend of silk and wool. I spent 14 years in the tech industry, where you couldn’t find a suit if your life depended on it. But I appreciate the importance of a suit now. We are a visual business, selling things on view – and it’s important to look the part.

Shirt by Thomas Pink

I started my working life as an investment banker in London, where I developed a now longstanding appreciation for a well-cut Jermyn Street shirt. Almost all my shirts come from Thomas Pink, mainly because they have exceptional fit and a broad colour range.

Watch by Rolex

I’ve always believed in wearing a watch every day, even in the internet world and the era of smartphones. This Submariner was a 40th birthday present from my brother. I love it. The thick leather strap and classic design have always made me think of a trusty and durable SUV, if it were to have a parallel in the car world.

Shoes by Paul Smith

I get most of my loafers from Paul Smith because there is a store just down the street from my office. But beyond convenience, what I love about this brand is that its shoes are extremely comfortable and in a range of unexpected or surprising colours. These may seem navy but they are infused with a rich purple. I like to seem classic but with an edge for my meetings.
