Pernod Ricard, the French drinks group, is strengthening its links with HEC School of Management, Paris and financing a chair of management of prestigious brands.

The pair have a well established relationship. Pernod Ricard is a member of the board of directors of the HEC Foundation and the French school provides the group with executive education.

Marketing professor Jean-Noël Kapferer will assume academic responsibility for the chair and will look at research development, case study preparation and the development of curriculum.

Pernod Ricard, which intends to finance the chair for five years says the move is in line with its decision to reinforce its expertise in prestigious brands, as well as provide career opportunities for graduates.

The HEC Foundation consists of more than 45 international companies that support the school’s ambitions to foster links between academia and the business world, including teaching and research. HEC currently has nine chairs funded by members of the HEC Foundation.
