George Yip, former associate dean of London Business School, is to join RSM Erasmus University, in the Netherlands, as dean. Prof Yip, a specialist in global strategy, will succeed Han van Dissel who quit Rotterdam in September to become managing director of the European Centre for Executive Development (Cedep), the executive education provider which is based on the Insead campus in Fontainebleau.

Two years ago Prof Yip became vice president and director of research and innovation at Capgemini Consulting. Prior to this, between 2003 and 2006, he was a lead senior fellow of the Advanced Institute of Management Research, the UK initiative to promote research in management.

He studied economics and law at Cambridge University before getting an MBA at Cranfield School of Management and Harvard Business School. His DBA is also from Harvard. Prof Yip has taught at UCLA, the Judge Business School at Cambridge University and at Georgetown University.
