Swap a spy or two for Snowden

Sir, The way to get Edward Snowden back from Russia is obvious: a spy swap, such as Washington and Moscow carried out as recently as 2010: ten Russian sleeper agents for four Russians who had been passing information to the US. Surely the FBI has a few more Russian sleepers under surveillance.

If Vladimir Putin takes the deal, he is betraying an asylum seeker. If he rejects the deal, he is betraying Russian agents abroad. Either way, he suffers some embarrassment.
