Woebot, aka London-based music blogger-turned-musician Matthew Ingram, has blown the dust off loads of old records, fed them through a sampler and devised an ingenious tribute to the notion of groove, stitched together with a collage of funky blues-rock riffs, gentle hip-hop beats, obscure psychedelic gems such as Dirk Wagner & The Frost’s “Mystery Man” and a track in which Robert Plant and James Brown, if it be they, appear to be on heat yowling at each other.
