PopCap Games, the US company behind such online gaming hits as Plants vs Zombies and Bejeweled, is in the process of being acquired, according to Techcrunch. Although a buyer has yet to be identified, Techcrunch has heard that the price is over $1bn.

Mobile social shopping group Foursquare is to set to unveil its a partnership with American Express, The New York Times reports. The agreement will offer discounts to cardholders when they check in on their cellphone at certain shops and restaurants.

The legal battle that inspired last year’s hit film, The Social Network, appears to be over. Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, Harvard classmates and former business partners of Mark Zuckerberg, have decided not to appeal further a settlement in their long-running dispute over the origins of Facebook, reports The Wall Street Journal.

The chief executive of Salon, Richard Gingras, is to leave the the US news and comment site to be Google’s global head of news products, PaidContent says.
