Wharton’s new dean Thomas Robertson has wasted no time in making his mark on the school. He has appointed three, long-serving Wharton faculty members to key leadership positions within the school at the University of Pennsylvania.

Michael Gibbons, professor of investment banking and professor of finance has been named deputy dean. David Schmittlein, professor of marketing takes on the role of vice-dean for global initiatives and brand development and Georgette Chapman Phillips, professor of real estate has been named vice-dean and director of the Wharton undergraduate division.

Prof Robertson took over the helm of Wharton on August 1st. A former dean of Emory’s Goizueta Business School he is very familiar with Wharton and was a faculty member at the school from 1971-1994.
