There are not many business schools that receive state awards for their work, but then, there are not many business schools are in the balkan republic of Slovenia.

Slovenian President Danilo Türk has awarded IEDC in Bled the Golden Order for Services, which may sound like something out of a Harry Potter novel, but is the highest decoration for services in the country. The award was given for building a tradition of management education in Slovenia and for being an agent for change in the country.

Danica Purg, president and founder of IEDC-Bled, says she sees the award as the result of 25 years of developing competent and ethical leaders. “I consider as the greatest success when participants transform themselves during the studies, so that they return home not just educated, but also motivated to contribute to a positive development of the society.”
