It’s done it again.

The S&P 500 climbed to a fresh record high on Friday as a bumper jobs report further fueled optimism over the state of the US economy.

The benchmark index rose 0.7 per cent to hit a new high of 2,179.05 in early trading. It surpassed the previous intraday high of 2,178.29 set on Monday.
