Former New Look boss Phil Wrigley, who chairs Habitat and Majestic Wine, has invested a six-figure sum in online shopping start-up, where selected retailers compete for consumer orders.

Once the consumer places a wishlist of products – from electronics, home and garden, sports equipment to wine – in Ortso, retailers submit offers competing for the orders.

Mr Wrigley joins a team advising Ortso chief Steve Jones, a former Incisive Media executive, who is to seek further investments over the next few weeks.
