Mayer’s fight to transform Yahoo suffered a blow this week

Marissa Mayer, the chief executive of Yahoo, was brought into the company in July 2012. Although she has injected glamour into the business with a series of overhauls and high-profile hires, questions remain about whether her transformation plan will succeed. The share price rose more than 100 per cent last year, but the group’s share of digital advertising revenues has suffered a steady decline.
