Far East Movement: Free Wired

Party-hearty songs from the Asian-American band

Far East Movement

Free Wired

Formed in LA’s Koreatown, Far East Movement are the first Asian-American band to score a US number one with their garishly catchy electro/hip-hop hit “Like a G6”. That’s the highlight of their third album Free Wired, which is otherwise chiefly notable for party-hearty lyrics so inane they make The Black Eyed Peas look like Samuel Beckett. Watch out for one of the world’s worst chat-up lines (“Yo, now I ain’t been to space before/But I ain’t never seen a face like yours”) and a song in which a robot repeats the line “Girls on the dancefloor” 24 times.
