Shirt by Van Laack

I bought this light blue herringbone shirt in Harrods a few years ago and I like it because it feels custom-made, with the convenience of ready-to-wear. This is the kind of outfit I wear for a day of internal meetings. I dress up a bit more if I’m meeting advertisers. www.vanlaack.de

Cufflinks by Ben Silver

These are British pounds that have been enamelled by a company called Ben Silver in Charleston, which has stacks of old coins. I have them in lots of different currencies, some discontinued. I like to match them to the local culture I am visiting. www.bensilver.com

Watch by Bedat

I bought this watch in Geneva, where I live, and I bought it for its versatility because it looks good with jeans or a suit. I like the fact that it’s a quality brand but not a household name. I saw it advertised in a magazine and tore out the page. www.bedat.com

Blazer by Zegna

I end up buying Zegna suits a high percentage of the time, even when I try and browse, and this blazer is in a slim cut. I’m on the dressier side of my company. It’s very much a no-dress-code company, with a campus in California which is very casual, but I’m a bit of a face of Yahoo! to the region so I need to look polished. www.zegna.com

Trousers by Zegna

These are smarter than jeans but don’t wrinkle, are durable, and don’t make me look dishevelled when I travel.

Belt by Hugo Boss

I got it to match my shoes. I look for simple belts in a nice colour, rather than a statement accessory. www.hugoboss.com

Socks by Blacksocks

What’s great about this website is that you can get a sock subscription and then they are delivered continually. www.blacksocks.com

Shoes by Prada

These have a rubber sole and the slip-on style makes them easier in airports, and they are also versatile for any weather. www.prada.com
