DCC, the Irish marketing and support services group, has appointed a
new chief executive after Tommy Breen, who was at the helm since May
2008, decided to retire.

Donal Murphy, who is currently executive and managing director of
DCC’s Energy, the company’s largest division, will take over as the
new chief executive.

Mr Breen will stand down from his position and from the board on July
14th following the company’s annual general meeting.

Mr Murphy has been with DCC since 1998 and has held a number of senior
roles, including managing director of DCC Technology and assumed his
current role in 2006.

Mr Breen said:

I have been extremely fortunate to have worked for DCC
for more than 30 years. Given that DCC has been such an important part of my life for over 30 years I will be sad to leave but believe now is the right time and I am very pleased to be handing over to Donal, who has been such an important part of our success since he joined the Group 19 years ago.

Separately, the company said it expects both operating profit and
adjusted earnings per share for the year ended 31 March 2017 to be
“significantly ahead of the prior year and in line with current market
