Mindful we are discussing a film in which the faces of two of the four main cast members end up covered in the ejections of a third, there’s a certain wisdom to The Inbetweeners 2. Not among the characters in this ongoing sitcom spin-off, no. On a gap year misadventure in Australia, they actually seem to be de-evolving. But writer-directors Damon Beesley and Iain Morris manage to expand one hallmark, a gift for the grossest of gross-out, without diminishing the other – an essential sweetness of spirit.
