Paul Danos to stand down as dean of Tuck at Dartmouth College

Paul Danos is to step down as dean of the Tuck school at Dartmouth College when his term of appointment comes to an end in June 2015. He is currently serving his fifth term as dean of the school.

Prof Danos’s influence on the Ivy League school has been to promote quality rather than quantity. While other business schools have expanded into executive and doctoral programmes, Tuck has resolutely focused on the full-time MBA. Only recently has the school launched a degree programme in Health Care Delivery Science with the university.

This approach also applied to professors: the number of full-time faculty at Tuck has risen from just 36 to 51 since Prof Danos’ appointment as dean.

Prior to his appointment at Tuck, Prof Danos, an accountancy professor by training, served as a senior associate dean at the University of Michigan, now Michigan Ross. He received his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in 1974 and MBA from the University of New Orleans.
